Implement a system to backup and restore chats, enabling users to save their conversation history and transfer it between devices for seamless continuity.
I really need this, I would like to transfer my chats to another browser. I also tend to format my computer very often so I really need this.

Same here, and related; the abilty to choose a custom location for the chat data which could be (on mac for example) be synced with icloud or some browser sync functionality

I will second this request. Relying on browser local storage for chats is very inconvenient for users who care about privacy and clean their histories/cookies/caches/etc. To be able do choose a custom folder for chats would be much more beneficial, while stile allowing users to retain their privacy.

Allowing users to customize the read/write directory of the data would be an ideal solution. It would solve for a variety of asks - one-off backup, wanting to use a specific drive, and also let users roll their own cross-device sync (at their own choice and risk).

I was just about to post something similar - I am particularly interested in the ability to sync chat history across devices and wonder how this can be done whilst maintaining the privacy. I use Brave, which I understand has privacy aspects but not sure to what extent and this enables syncing of history, passwords, favourites etc across devices that are synced using the private key that you setup with Brave. Something similar may be the way.
