Credit protection or retry when a video generation fails, here's how it could work:

I understand that AI generation CAN fail… my issue is that the customer currently absorbs basically 100% of the financial loss when that happens. I’d estimate I’ve probably lost somewhere around $100–$200 worth of credits purely on generations that were unusable because the model dramatically failed to follow the prompt or references. I'm a very high consumer when it comes to this and have trained my prompts to work exactly as Seedance would like them to, but when one generation is already relatively expensive, getting two or three completely failed generations in a row can suddenly make continuing a project much more expensive than expected.

I regularly get things like:

  • Major parts of the prompt being completely ignored.

  • Reference-image styles bleeding into the base image and changing the intended visual style.

  • The model taking huge creative liberties instead of following the instructions.

  • Occasionally, outputs that seem almost completely unrelated to the prompt.

  • And the worse of them all, abominations that look like a human-made horrors beyond comprehension.

I’ve even had extreme examples where I provided a specific indoor environment, like a living room, and somehow received a video of somebody on a mountain doing something completely unrelated to the prompt and even speaking a different language.

One possible solution: 1 optional free regeneration

An idea I had would be giving users one complimentary regeneration immediately after the initial generation.

To prevent people from just using this to get two videos for the price of one, Venice could make it a choice:

Accept the original generation → you keep/download it normally.

Use the free regeneration → the original generation is forfeited, and the replacement becomes your “final result”.

That way, the feature functions as actual failure protection instead of just giving everybody two generations.

There are obviously other ways Venice could handle it too:

Partial credit refunds when a generation is discarded. One discounted regeneration immediately afterward.

A significant discount on retrying with the exact same prompt/references. Some kind of credit-protection benefit for frequent/high-volume users.

And more that I'm sure the community could think of.

Seedance R2V Enhanced is one of my favorite models on Venice for the kind of videos I make, it’s probably one of the strongest options available. I WANT to keep using it. But when a generation costs a meaningful amount of credits, repeatedly paying full price for completely unusable outputs becomes difficult to justify.

I know Venice doesn’t control every problem with the underlying Seedance model (or others), but Venice does control how credits, retries, and access to that model work on its platform. So I think some kind of retry, partial refund, or generation-failure protection system would make video generation substantially less frustrating, especially for people generating a high volume of videos and spending a lot on credits. And it would make someone like me, a high consumer on their platform, have more confidence when using Venice to generate.
