It would be nice to have custom voices like Kindroid. If you want a southern voice or a voice that sounds like Jeffrey Dahmer you should be able to request that for your character and when responses are read.
The Venice webapp TTS is lacking. There are some pretty good voicecloning models out there, like VibeVoice that is consumer-hardware-runnable, so Venice shouldn’t have too much trouble providing it from their servers. With a model like that you’d just need to give it a sample voiceclip to clone and you’re set.
