Enhanced Tagging & Character Discovery System

Overview

Improve the Venice character discovery system by expanding tagging, search, filtering, and engagement options to streamline browsing, enhance organization, and increase creator visibility.

Proposed Features

Tagging System Improvements

  1. User-Supplied Tags

    • Allow users to manually add custom tags to their characters.

    • Use case: Enables personalization and better categorization beyond default options.

  2. Predefined Venice Tags

    • Establish a standardized set of Venice-approved tags (e.g., NSFW, RP, Fantasy, Horror, Sci-Fi).

    • Use case: Ensures consistency in browsing and filtering across all characters.

  3. AI-Generated Tag Suggestions

    • Automatically suggest relevant tags based on the character’s description.

    • Use case: Speeds up tagging and improves discoverability by ensuring accuracy.

  4. Tag Icons & Visual Indicators

    • Small icons or color-coded labels for key tags (🔞 NSFW, 🎭 RP, 🌀 Twists, etc.).

    • Hover-over descriptions to explain tag meanings.

    • Potential emoji-based tagging for a more visually engaging experience.

    • Use case: Makes browsing intuitive and tags more readable at a glance.

Character Discovery Overhaul

  1. Multi-Tag Filtering

    • Allow users to filter by multiple tags simultaneously (e.g., "Fantasy + Friendly + RP").

    • Use case: Prevents restrictive single-tag searches, improving content discovery.

  2. Sorting & Search Enhancements

    • Add sorting options: Newest, Most Popular, Highest Rated.

    • Implement a "Related Characters" section to suggest similar characters based on tags and engagement.

    • Use case: Enhances content discovery and engagement by making it easier to find relevant characters.

  3. Featured, New, and Popular Sections

    • Featured: Curated or trending characters.

    • New: Recently uploaded characters.

    • Popular: Characters with the most interactions, searches, or positive ratings.

    • Use case: Gives high-quality and trending characters better visibility.

  4. Random Character Button

    • A “surprise me” option to show a completely random character.

    • Use case: Encourages organic discovery and exploration of lesser-known characters.

Engagement & Social Features

  1. Character Ratings & Reviews

    • Allow users to rate characters (e.g., thumbs up/down, star ratings).

    • Enable comments or short reviews.

    • Use case: Adds community feedback and engagement, helping highlight high-quality characters.

  2. Custom Character Lists

  • Let users organize characters into custom lists (e.g., "My Favorite RP Characters").

  • Use case: Improves organization and encourages repeat engagement.

  1. Creator Follows & Profile Visibility

  • Users can follow creators to get notified of new character releases.

  • Add a "Other Characters by This Creator" section on each character page.

  • Use case: Enhances creator visibility and encourages user retention.

Why This Matters

  • Improves organization and searchability by making tags and filters more intuitive.

  • Increases engagement and retention by allowing users to curate favorites, rate characters, and follow creators.

  • Enhances discoverability for new characters and creators, ensuring that high-quality content gets visibility.

Implementation Considerations

  • Tagging system should be a mix of manual input, predefined options, and AI suggestions.

  • Sorting and filtering must be intuitive and scalable as the platform grows.

  • Engagement features should be optional for creators who prefer not to allow ratings/comments.

This feature overhaul would greatly enhance the Venice platform, making it easier for users to find, organize, and engage with characters while improving creator visibility and discoverability.
