Hi Venice team,
I’m requesting a feature to sync chat history across devices when logged into the same Venice account.
Problem:
Currently, chats are stored only in local browser storage. This means:
Chats on my phone don’t appear on my computer, even when I’m logged in and using a synced Chrome profile.
There’s no easy way to continue conversations or reference history when switching devices.
Manual export/import is technical and not practical for regular use.
Proposed Solution:
Add an optional, user-controlled sync feature that:
Encrypts chat data locally before syncing.
Stores encrypted data in the user’s account (not in plaintext).
Allows users to enable/disable sync per device or globally.
Maintains Venice’s privacy-first approach: no plain-text data on servers, user holds the keys if possible.
Alternatives Considered:
Manual export/import: Too cumbersome for daily use.
Single-device usage: Not realistic for users with phone and computer.
Use Case:
I start a conversation on my phone during the day and want to continue it on my computer at night without losing context or manually transferring files.
Additional Notes:
I understand the privacy implications and would opt-in to sync only if it’s secure and encrypted by default.
Thanks for considering this—it would make Venice much more seamless for multi-device users.
Please authenticate to join the conversation.
