Feedback from a Pro subscriber — pricing structure and model availability concerns

Here you go:

To the Venice AI team,

I've been a Pro subscriber for a while now, and I'm writing because I'm concerned about the direction the platform is heading. I chose Venice specifically because it wasn't following the same tired playbook as the larger AI platforms. Uncensored models, straightforward pricing, what you see is what you get — that was the pitch, and it worked. I left ChatGPT for Venice for exactly those reasons.

Two things have me reconsidering that decision.

First — model availability. I recently received notifications that several Pro-included image models (Chroma, Lustify SDXL, Lustify v8) were unavailable. No explanation, no timeline, no context. I checked Venice Studio and they appear to be working again, but there was no communication about what happened. For a paying subscriber, that's not acceptable. If it was a capacity issue, say so. If it was a backend change, say so. Silence makes people assume the worst — and right now, the worst looks like models being quietly migrated toward a pay-per-use model.

Second — the pricing gap. The jump from Pro ($18/month, 100 credits) to Pro Plus ($68/month, 7,500 credits) is a 378% increase with absolutely nothing in between. There is no middle tier. No logical upgrade path. Just a cliff. I would happily pay $25–$30/month for something in between — 2,000–3,000 credits, broader model access, a reasonable step up. But I'm not going from $18 to $68 in one move. That's not an upgrade. That's a second subscription.

And I know I'm not the only one who feels this way. The Reddit community is already talking about it. Users are confused about what's included, what costs credits, and what gets deprecated next. That uncertainty is the exact thing Venice was supposed to be different from.

I run Chroma1-HD locally on ComfyUI. I don't strictly need Venice for image generation. I pay for Venice because it's convenient, because it works in the browser, and because I want to support a platform that's supposed to be doing things differently. But if the value of the Pro tier keeps eroding while the next reasonable option costs nearly four times as much, I'll go back to local-only and cancel my subscription. Not out of anger — out of simple economics.

I'm not asking for a handout. I'm asking for a pricing structure that makes sense. A $25 or $30 tier would keep people like me — actual power users who generate thousands of images and actually use the platform — from walking. Right now, there's nothing keeping us in the middle.

I hope someone reads this and takes it seriously.

Thank you,
