How to use Pro-Functionality on Desktop using VCE and API key?

Hi everyone, I am staking VVV and am generating VCE to use the Pro-Version (as I understood it in the documentation). I also generated an API key. But it seems that the Pro access on Desktop is only possible with API and coding? If thats the case I am a bit disappointed since I thought the whole point of buying VVV and staking is supporting the network and getting access for Pro-requests also on Desktop, as an alternative to paying in Fiat? Kindly advise if I missed something.
