A link shortener would allow Venice to see the full encryption keys for a shared encrypted conversation, thus permitting us to decode it. That would go against our ethos for that mechanism, so unfortunately we can’t support that.

One could argue that a stateless shortener that warns the users about the risks is superior, in terms of practical security, to having users turn to tinyurl
