searching public characters

The search field in https://venice.ai/character-chat/public is quite annoying: If ones types the search string with normal speed, then the input is interrupted by updating the UI after every keystroke. The one, who can type really fast, has no problem with this interface. But I guess most users are no high speed keyboard typers.
