Sharing API with new users

It would be nice if we could share an API key with our friends and allow them to plug it into Venice V2.  So for example, if I share an API key with a 5 Diem cap, it could use the first Diem/day to grant them a pro membership, and they could use any additional Diem to power models.

I think this would greatly improve the value of VVV and Diem because it’s a share with a friend feature which leads to organic growth.  Currently, they can share the crypto, but that’s complicated for newbies to crypto.  Sharing an API key and entering to unlock is super easy.

Moreover, most people have limited Diem and will probably grant low caps when they share with friends.  If their friends like the service, they’ll be incentived to buy Diem (or credits for the non-crypto savvy).  

All the friend would have to do is delete the API key to reclaim their coins and boot someone off their membership.  In this case, you can notify that user their friend has deleted the API key and explain to them how to buy a subscription or Diem.

I think it would be a great way to make Venice more user friendly and increase usage.  

Potential downsides include people giving out 1 Diem API keys for free pro memberships which might drive up utilization fraction.  People could also accidentally screw up and give out the admin keys.  Also, if you make it too easy to use API keys/Diem instead of actual crypto, it could decrease subscription revenue from newbies if they use Diem API keys to power Venice V2.

It’s worth considering and discussing.  I for one would love to give API keys to a few of my best friends to plug into Venice V2.  Unfortunately, they’re not the type of people to learn how to use Diem.
