Spaces with Context-Aware Prompting

Spaces are organizational containers that let users group related chats together—similar to folders, but with superpowers. Instead of scrolling through a flat list of all your conversations, you create dedicated spaces like "Work Projects," "Creative Writing," "Coding Help," or "Research."

Prompting the space means attaching a persistent system prompt or context to the space itself. When you start a new chat within a space, it automatically inherits that space's prompt, so you don't have to re-establish context every time.

Key Behaviors:

  1. Organization - Create, name, and color-code spaces. Drag chats between spaces. Archive or favorite spaces.

  2. Space-Level Prompting - Set a custom system prompt that applies to every chat in the space. For example:

    • A "Legal Review" space with prompt: "You are a legal assistant. Always cite relevant case law and flag potential risks."

    • A "Python Dev" space with prompt: "You are a Python expert. Prefer functional programming patterns and include type hints in code examples."

    • A "Therapy Journaling" space with prompt: "You are a supportive listener. Ask reflective questions and avoid giving direct advice."

  3. Context Inheritance - New chats in a space start with the space prompt pre-loaded. Users can override or append to it per-chat if needed.

  4. Quick Switching - Switch between spaces to shift contexts instantly—your prompts, tone, and even suggested actions adapt to the active space.

This essentially turns Venice from a single conversation stream into a multi-context workspace where each space has its own "personality" and purpose.
