Venice.ai sometimes hangs indefinitely

When chatting, sometimes Venice.ai behaves as if it’s processing one’s chat submission, yet it hangs in a seemingly infinite count-up.

I’m looking at a chat right now that is now past 800 seconds. It reads like “Venice Large 1.1 825.23s” and counting up. There is no way to tell if I will ever receive a response.

We need a way of being alerted to the fact that the response will never come so we can move on and try again. Yet how can we know the difference between whether a response is incoming or we are just infinitely hanging?

This is problematic for users because we have to create our own heuristic to decide what to do. “How long should I wait?” “Is it because they are busy?” “If I stop will I lose my place in line?” “Is it hanging because of the time of day?” “Should I ‘try again later?’“ “Is it just hung?”

Also when Venice.ai hangs in this fashion and the user ultimately needs to click the stop button, the UI is deleting the user’s last submission. Please preserve this latest (failed) submission for the user such that they have a record of what they were trying to submit. (and add a feature for “resubmit”).

Thanks for your consideration and providing a fix or workaround. Venice.ai is trailblazing and it’s awesome. Thank you.
