You're right. They went from the Mistral Small 3.1 model with vision and 128k of context to an uncensored version without vision and only 32k of context.
At least let us free users choose between the 128k vision version and the 32k uncensored version...

I’m going to be honest, as soon as I realized that literally every single model which has been made to literally make Venice the platform it claims to be was REMOVED, I genuinely felt no need to subscribe to this platform anymore, nor support it for the features that it provides at a comparatively reasonable price for the convenience.
Personally — and not in a facetious way, or just lying to get attention on what I wish to be done prioritized — I found it much more efficient to learn Tensorflow and the process of uncensoring/retraining censored models, etc…
For me, if I was just going to use Venice here and there for upscaling and occasional/heavily limited uncensored text and/or image generation, or perhaps MAYBE use anything that has under 200k+ of context (lmao), then maybe I would’ve paid the API price for Venice.
Sadly, and genuinely, since I am a dev and finance wigga I literally used a grant from DigitalOcean and AWS in order to pay for the jailbreaking/uncensoring of Kimi K2.5 and additional restrictions loosened within GLM models, etc… Working on trying to break open GPT-OSS-120B while enhancing it’s reasoning, programming, tool usage and et al abilities…
There was literally no point in removing Venice Large and choosing to actively retire Venice Medium, and all the other poor choices. I love this platform, and I even actually glaze Erik Voorhees (Venice and ShapeShift CEO, literally GOATED individual who is in crypto and this uncensored AI realm for the literal love of the game it seems, and just so happened to become RICH)… But, in this current state, there is literally no chance I would spend $18 per month for a one time grant of $10 in API OR Video credits + the web platform as it is.
I have built what I wished for at this point, and am happy to pay for it’s facilitation, to be honest. I jusr PRAY the additional things that the community asks for is even considered at all, as it seems they have been considering convenience and nothing but profit factor since I have been on the platform. I get it — I work in FinTech, but I mean, isn’t all of this to give people an affordable option to do what Eric believes everyone has the right to do?
Perhaps if they add things like better image editing tools (like maybe “object removal” and other stuff), limited and allotted video generation, at minimum $5 in API credit per month (ESPECIALLY WHEN WE HAVE NO MODELS WHICH COULD COST THEM IMMENSE AMOUNTS OF MONEY TO PROVISION), and really other innovations we all have been begging for such as a true research tool, et al, I would even then decide to pay the $20 per month and would probably buy a year!
For now, genuinely, I have gotten a bit more value out of trying my luck with either selfhosting AI models and such on my server with multiple GPUs, or even simply loading my model on to a cheap instance on Vast and just building an API that juggles them and their initiation, queues tasks, etc…
I hope to come back soon, team Venice. It was a really cool tool when it was pushing what consumers wanted and needed. Even in the event of myself going totally broke, Z.AI GLM 5 access — basically unlimited via API with their coding plan — is like around $200 per 4 months…. For most of my work, especially with the MCPs that they include, this is more than enough and provides far more usage :(

I was even considering hoarding DIEM or VVV… I wish I would’ve gotten in super early, but damn… I cannot justify it unless Venice has its own model (even if simply another retrained Qwen, etc…) and is providing a TRUELY uncensored, unlimited, innovative and intelligent experience.
